An adoptee raised in a foreign land, sixteen-year-old Lianne was content with her life as handmaiden to the queen, until a spell cast on her at birth activated. Now she's filled with uncontrollable rage and access to magic she thought had been bled from her people years ago. Even her years of secret training in elite hand-to-hand combat and meditation can’t calm the fires raging inside her.
Her heart is torn between two boys, the one she’s always loved and the one who always ignored her. But when the kingdom threatens to tear itself apart due to rumors surrounding the queen’s alleged affair, who will Lianne protect and who will she destroy?
I don't even know how to begin explaining how awesome this book was! It was AMAZING!! The characters were great and the plot kept me guessing until the very end!

Sleepers is the story of Lianne, who along with two boys, Kellen and Bryden were given to the enemy of a neighboring land as a peace offering when they were babies. Kellen is the oldest and a born fighter, where Bryden is quiet and crippled from a childhood accident which killed his adoptive parents. I LOVED the little love triangle that was happening here. All of her life, Lianne has liked Kellen. When he finally notices her, they become boyfriend and girlfriend. But now, Bryden is back in her life and you can tell the two of them have a very strong connection. There was a lot to Bryden and at first he came off as a jerk, but as the story progressed, I fell more and more in love with him!

Lianne was a kick ass chick! She was so loyal and even in the toughest situations she knew how to handle herself. She never really knew who she could trust, but I liked that she was still willing to give people a chance.

Sleepers was very fast paced. The story just flowed nicely and it kept my interest the entire time. I am so looking forward to the second book, because WOAH that ending was intense!

Megg Jensen has proved herself to be a very talented author! I look forward to reading  everything that lady writes! If you haven't read her other books, The Cloud Prophecy series, what are you waiting for?! Go read them NOW! You will not be disappointed!
