Too many secrets. Not enough time.

Nick Merrick is supposed to be the level-headed one. The peacemaker. Since it’s just him and his three hotheaded brothers against the world, that’s a survival tactic.

But now he’s got problems even his brothers can’t help him survive.

His so-called girlfriend, Quinn, is going quick as mercury from daring to crazy. Meanwhile, Quinn’s dancer friend Adam is throwing Nick off balance, forcing him to recognize a truth he’d rather shove back into the dark.

He can feel it—-the atmosphere is sizzling. Danger is on the way. But whatever happens next, Nick is starting to find out that sometimes nothing you do can keep the peace.
Nick is the dependable brother. He doesn't get into trouble, he helps his brothers whenever they need help and is the exact opposite of his twin, Gabriel. Sometimes Gabriel is so angry, that only Nick can talk him off that ledge. Nick has always intrigued me, and I definitely learned much more about him in this novella. Nick is there for everyone, but as it turns out, no one is really there for him. Gabriel tries, but Nick holds a lot of things in, including the fact that he has never really been attracted to girls. Years of holding these feelings in and never acting on them all comes to a head one night when he meets Adam, a dancer friend of his girlfriend. As it turns out, no matter how much Nick has tried to ignore it, he is in fact gay.

Poor Nick! He believes he can never tell his brothers, especially Gabriel. He doesn't think they will accept him. But I think Nick isn't giving his brothers any credit. I think Gabriel would be the first one to ride the "my brother is gay and I don't care" bandwagon!

We also get to see another side of Quinn. Her home life is so shitty, and I felt so bad for her. No wonder she always has an attitude! I love how well Nick can handle her. He doesn't let her attitude affect him one bit. You can tell he really does care about her, even though he isn't attracted to her.

I am so excited to read the next book in the series, and I hope we don't have to wait for Nick's full length book to find out if he ends up telling his brothers.
