Every Shattered Thing is a beautifully written, devastating story about what happens behind closed doors. Stephanie keeps to herself, but she has friends and a boyfriend. But nobody knows how horrible and scary her life really is. Not only are her parents extremely abusive, but her dad also pimps her out to make money. Her voice was so realistic and it was heartbreaking to read her experiences. I felt her pain and loneliness and it just killed me.

For some reason, I thought this book was about a girl who was sold into sexual slavery and living in the United States, but it was even worse when I found out it was her parents causing her this pain. It's absolutely amazing to me that there are people in the world that would do these horrible things to their children. Stephanie was such a wonderful character. Even at her lowest points, when she was so broken, you didn't know if she could continue, she was strong and brave. She wouldn't allow her father to break her soul and I respected her so much for this.

Every Shattered Thing is definitely a dark read, but so worth it. The writing was beautiful, even though the subject matter was painful. Elora Nicole Ramirez definitely has become an author that I will always read!
